DIY Make Your Own Pentagram
I made a pentagram star formed out of sticks to mark the inception of this blog. A space where I will share DIY ideas and aphorisms; mostly simplistic in nature and orientated towards either magic or fashion or interior. The pentagram is commonly used to make enclosure of magical rituals and it is easy to make your own Pentagram.Making a pentagram is symbolic to me of the magic that happens when you make something. It can be as small as sewing a button on a coat, making ribbon into a choker, painting a stool, or piecing together the things that inspire you to create a collage. It becomes special when you use your hands to create something the way you want it rather than accepting the generic.
The Pentagram or Pentacle star speaks about our place in the universe. It is a protective symbol that contains endless layers of symbolism. The upward point of the star represents spirit, the other four points represent earth, air, fire and water. Each element contributes to the workings of the universe and are a part of each of us.
Here is how you can make your own protection Pentagram Star..
You will need:
- 5 x sticks
- Black thread
- Ribbon of choice (optional)
- Objects of choice (optional)
Step 1: Collect 5 x sticks. Pick the best looking sticks you can find, they need to be a similar width.
Step 2: Trim the sticks to be a similar length.
Step 3: Lay your 5 twigs in the formation of a star.
Step 4: Wrap your black thread where the sticks intersect, knot after one round. Keep wrapping and knotting until it feels secure. It is best to bind both the 5 points as well as the 4 sections the sticks intersect in the inside of the star formation.
Step 5: Wrap a ribbon / adornment of choice on top of the thread. I used a brown plat (former headband).
Put your own creative spin on your pentacle and use it in the way that feels right for you. My pentagram spends time between my alter, on top of my manifestation board, on the window cill and spending time with my wand and totem items.
